I was one of the lucky students to have Mr. Proud in 8th grade English and again in Humanities class. My funniest memory of him is the day he was standing infront of the class teaching, stopped and announced, "Ladies! I am not interested in the color of your underwear! Please pull your skirts down!" There was a rustling as very short skirts were pulled down. In Humanities class he asked thought provoking questions and made us support our positions on issues. It is because of Mr. Proud I went into teaching and enjoyed a 26 year career teaching 1st graders. I respected Mr. Proud, enjoyed his sense of humor and his calm teaching style. He was a beautiful blessing in this world. Karen Blunt Poole
