Donald J. Ahern Jr.

Donald James Ahern Jr. of Cicero, NY passed away on February 23, 2023. He was born on October 31, 1955 in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Altmar Parish Williamstown School District in 1975. After graduation, Donald returned to work for APW's building and grounds department, priding himself on the maintenance of the athletic fields there. Donald retired from the APW School District as the Maintenance Director of Williamstown Elementary, after over 30 years of dedicated service. Donald also operated his own landscaping and snow removal service throughout the community.

After retirement, he worked for the Town of Cicero Highway Department and the facilities department at the Carrier Dome during sporting events.

Donald helped to establish various youth sports across the APW community. He served as a mentor and coach and touched many lives in a positive way. He will be truly missed by those that knew him.

Donald enjoyed time with friends and family and was a devoted S.U. sports fan.

Donald was predeceased by his grandmother Ruth Bailey of Williamstown. In addition to his late grandmother, he was also predeceased by his sisters Debbie and Ruthie.

Donald is survived by his brother David Ahern (Ardis). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and countless friends Donald considered family.
