Viola M. Skotniski

Viola M. Skotniski, 79, of Oswego, died Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Oswego Hospital. She was born in Mexico, NY; the daughter of the late, Samuel and Olive Twiss Wallis. She retired from the Maintenance Department of the Carrier Corp. She was an Honorary Member of the Pulaski American Legion Post #358 Ladies Auxiliary. Viola was pre-deceased by, her husband, Edwin E. Skotniski, Sr. in 1990 and her daughter, Marsha Shannon, in 2012.

Viola is survived by, her sons, Edwin E. Skotniski, Jr., of Pulaski, NY and Michael Skotniski, of Jordan, NY; four daughters, Theresa Laux, of Mexico, NY, Julie Quackenbush, of Mexico, NY, Cathy Alexander, of IL and Karen Marshall, of VA; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Myrtle Winklestein, of Mexico, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY. Spring Interment will be in the South Richland Cemetery at 1 p.m. on May 13, 2019. Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
