Theresa “Tina” Steele, 63, of Mexico, passed away on March 22, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on February 17, 1960, in Oswego, New York to the late Charles Howard Sr. and Eileen Hughes; and graduated from Mexico High School. Tina married Larry Steele in 1984, and they lived together in Mexico for most of their married lives.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Mexico, and her four children: Bonnie Steele, of Fulton; Larry Steele II, of Utica; Amara Steele, of Mexico; and Cassidy Steele, of Pennellville. Tina is also survived by her brother, Charles Howard Jr., sister, Nicole Howard, and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Jason Howard.
Tina was employed by the Mexico Academy and Central School District where she worked as a transportation monitor as well as a lunch monitor. She was passionate about the children that she worked with and made it her goal to ensure that each child felt seen and heard. Tina often received notes and pictures from children on the bus and at school and cherished each one. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind many beautiful memories.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from the Mexico VFW Edick-Hamlink Post #369, 5930 Scenic Avenue, Mexico, NY. Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the VFW. Arrangements in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY.

A celebration of life will commence following the services, please consider joining Tina’s family and enjoying a drink in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking all to do something kind for someone.
