For our beautiful, exasperating, fun-loving, hard-partying, and amazing brother: A football player, a sheriff, a Marine, son, brother, uncle, cousin, best friend, and husband... Our Steven was so much, to so many people, but for us, his siblings, he was our Steven, a joy, a pleasure, a treasure and pain in the you know what! I have so many stories of him it's impossible to tell them all. Maybe he was too big for one lifetime. For the rest of our days, we will all miss him, until we see him again.
If you knew Steven, you know he was proud of his time in the Marine Corps. and how much he loved his Harley's. I can see him now, on that super-charged Electra-Glide, riding through the Heavens, that quirky grin on his face, hair and bandana blowing in breeze. You don't need a helmet anymore brother, your free! We're gonna see you again on the other side big-brother.
For Steven:
For as long as we all can remember, it has always been "we" eight.
Now you've gone on ahead of us, riding through those pearly straits
We left behind are only seven, but still always, we are eight,
As you stand for us in waiting, holding guard at Heaven's gates.
Ooh-Rah Marine!
