Sam J. Piazza, 86, of Baldwinsville, NY; died on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the VA Medical Center, Syracuse, NY. He was born in Oswego, NY; son of the late Joseph and Mary Deambra Piazza. He was an Army Veteran from 1954 – 1956, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Edick-Hamlink Post #369 VFW in Mexico, NY and the Mexico American Legion. Sam was a member of the NRA. He was a Communicant of St. Anne Mother of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Mexico. Sam was a Barber and owned and operated Sam’s Barber Shop on Main Street in Mexico for 45 years.

He was pre-deceased by Jane Piazza.

Sam is survived by, his children, Sam J. (Victoria) Piazza, Jr. of Central Square, NY, Tracy (Joel) Pankowski, of Baldwinsville, NY and Matthew (Rebecca) Piazza, of Cicero, NY; his eight grandchildren, Eric, Samantha, Mary Jane, Joey, Stacy, Trevor, A.J. and Tyler; great-grandson, Zayden; sister, Joan Campbell; along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sam’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Mexico VFW Edick-Hamlink Post #369, 5930 Scenic Avenue, Mexico, NY. Sam’s family will receive friends following the service until 7 p.m. Arrangements are in the Trusted Care of the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY.
