Robert C. New, 85, passed away quietly on January 1st 2020. He was a resident of Morningstar Care Facility in Oswego and formerly lived in Palermo. He was born in Fulton to the late (Samuel)Merritt (Helen) New of Mexico and Lillian (Edward) Ward of Vermont. He was predeceased by his brother (Jim) Samuel (Patricia) New of Mexico.

He was an active member of the Pennellville United Methodist Church where he loved to serve coffee, sing in the choir and cantatas along with playing his guitar. He also loved spending time with his family, nature, taking pictures, marathon running and biking, later in life walking. He was a US Army Veteran and a former machinist.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Terry) Larrabee of Palermo; five grandchildren Jason, Kevin, Toby, James and Tabitha and many great grandchildren; siblings Patricia (Roger) Gleason of Vermont, David (Joan) New of New Jersey and a dear friend Kathie Anderson of Mattydale.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY. Spring Interment will be in the New Haven Rural Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
