Robert C. Hager “Pothole Bob” 79, of Pulaski, NY; passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY, with his family by his side. He was born in the Town of Richland, NY; son of the late Kenneth and Avis Hager, of New Haven, NY. Bob worked in Building Maintenance at Alcan (now Novelis) for 33 years, before retiring in January of 1996. Bob loved fishing, golf, playing cards, BBQ’s with his family, driving his Ford Truck and his pontoon boat, and sitting on his front porch watching others enjoy the water. He enjoyed his tractor, mowing lawns and helping others.

Bob is survived by, his wife of 58 years, Nelda Rhinehart Hager, married on August 13, 1960; his son, Verrick Hager Sr. of Mexico, NY; his daughter, Vicky (Michael) Hager DeCare, of Sandy Pond, NY; his grandson, Verrick Hager, Jr. of Syracuse, NY; his granddaughter, Alexzenia Hager, of Sandy Creek, NY; step-granddaughters, Rachel (Chris) Compson, of Mexico, NY, Heather (Luke) Fuller, of Scriba, NY and Ryane Sullivan, of FL; four step-great grandchildren, Nico Murabito, Emma Murabito, Christopher Compson, Jr. and Noah Compson, all of Mexico, NY; along with several nieces and nephews; and his brother, James “Roxie” Hager.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of Bob’s family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in the trusted care of the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY.
