RIP Rick. You did it your way and fulfilled your dream of going to California. From an old Syracuse friend.

To my other family,
How distinctly I remember my time with Rick and his lovely family. I was blessed to share a journey beginning in 1972 when Rick and I became a couple.
I was so amazed upon meeting them enjoying how special the Italian bond was. I was Ukrainian; so this was a new experience for me. My first introduction to Italian food. Delightful holiday feasts and Sunday family dinners I couldn’t wait to take pleasure in. Mom’s meatballs became my favorite and she would place the bowl by me so I could grab as many as I wanted. They all laughed, as I was not a big eater. I constantly begged her for the recipe but her answer was a flat come to Sunday dinner and eat them. Still wish to this day that I knew the secret to them, never had one as good as hers. Also, let us never forget Aunt Anna’s famous ice tea! I became a part of a wonderful world of being Ukrainian and Italian too. Sister Norma and Joe, children Rick, Patti, Donald, Denise, and Michael; sister Joan and John with their girls Linda and Carol.
So many Sundays spent on the porch watching the river flow and perhaps a few winks after devouring a meal. The creek between Uncle Dooley’s house, the big backyard, the garage, and the old rowboat.
Rick and I married in Rockland, MD on 1974 and sadly separated in 1979, but, only on paper. We carried a special love for each other throughout our lives. Deep inside my heart is a delicate box containing my memories of a journey with a beautiful family. My thought and prayers are with all of you today.

The Credno Family:

My condolences to all of you on the loss of your most beloved brother and uncle.

Rick and I were good friends and classmates in the Syracuse public schools from 3rd grade and onwards. Have fond memories of him as he was always able to make me laugh by seeing the humor and making fun of it all. A rare gift.

Lost track of him after 1973. Thought of him often. Especially when sad and needed to think of something funny he once said or had done. Lifting my spirits and elevating my mood for my own betterment. Happy memories.

Your sense and feelings of loss must be overwhelming. May you period of bereavement and grief be, mercifully, short.

God bless you all.
