In the late 60's into the 70's you could find Paul either playing football , baseball or hockey at the corner of S. Jefferson and Spring Streets on the lawn there . We had a great neighborhood group of village kids . We played on weekends from sun up to down in the rain and the snow. Paul was a competitor he played hard and with heart. He showed true sportsmanship every time and all the time. We had such fun. I miss those times and the sports we played as a group. To Tom and all your family my condolences. Joe " Benny "

I purposely waited till after the funeral yesterday to write my tribute to Paul. The fact that hundreds of people lined up for 4 hours is an indication of the impact Paul had on so many people’s lives. Paul and I have been close friends for 50 years. Paul was a person of honor a person of integrity. He was always the same, always cared about people. He will be missed by so many. He exhibited an unconditional love that is rarely seen in the world today. The world needs more people like Paul. He left us to soon. It is a shame and a tragedy. I had the privilege of living with Paul for the last six months in Tennessee during his retirement. We enjoyed many beautiful moments together watching baseball, talking, eating together… Paul was a true friend. Rest in peace my good friend. Your memory will never be forgotten.

It is with a heavy heart that I know that I won’t be able to play any more rounds of golf with Paul or officiate any more ball games with him. He was a person that made the day more enjoyable because you got to share it with him. I am just grateful for the opportunity that I had to get to be his friend.

Paul was a true professional and an outstanding member of our organization. He will be missed by his fellow umpires and the schools he officiated.

Paul was an amazing individual with one of the biggest hearts. The countless number of rounds of golf, the laughs, the stories and all of the wonderful memories are priceless. You were a genuine friend and will be missed dearly. We love you PP!

My best memories of Paul are from working at Eddie's Big M, all his stories...especially him telling how he hit a ball out in the road, hit my dad's windshield and hid in the woods, he reminded my dad of that every time he saw him. Rest in peace Paul, you will be sorely missed.

In 60 years I have been lucky enough to meet many people.
Paul Perlet is at the top of the list for people I am very grateful to have met and stayed friends with throughout both of our lives.
We’ve always stayed in touch thanks mainly to Paul always checking in, caring, and rooting for me.
I remember when the world first went digital and Paul resisted this change, kicking and screaming -
now fast forward to more recent times he became one of my favorite iPhone text buddies ever.
He was so consistently selfless in every situation.
Perhaps it took me awhile to not take advantage of that from time to time.
At that there was no better leader by example.

I know no one ever had a friend any better than Paul Perlet.
Thank you Haney, with love, Larry (Bison) & Michele Domingo.
