Obituary for Patricia A. Fischer

Patricia “Pat” Fischer, born Patricia Martin, went home to God on April 26, 2019.

Pat was raised in Lycoming, NY. She graduated Oswego High School in 1953 at the age of 16. She worked at the radio station in Oswego, and then Seal Rite in Fulton for several years before her marriage. Later, she worked for Hospice as a home health aid.

On April 16, 1955, she married her love, Frank Fischer. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. They settled in New Haven to raise their family of boys.

Pat enjoyed cooking; for everyone. She was an excellent cook and had great fun making special occasion cakes and catering small weddings for friends and family. She loved her flowers and gardening. She often played inspiring hymns on her piano at home. She enjoyed hosting foreign exchange students in her home stating that “it brought the world to me”.

She was very proud to be the church organist of the Scriba Baptist Church for 70 years starting at age 12. She was honored to serve the lord by teaching Sunday School, running the AB Girls Program and youth group, and serving on the worship committee for many years.

She had an amazing faith and a wide stubborn streak that helped her overcome years of serious illness. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend. She inspired us all. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, Her children; Edward and Anita, Richard and Debbie, Kenneth, Paul and Linda, Her daughter in law, Michelle Connolly, Her brothers and sisters in law, John and Jean Martin and Larry and Ruth Martin, Her grandchildren; Luke, Christopher, Khristian, Danial, Maxwell, Morgan, and Caleb, and her great grandson Jake.

She was predeceased by her parents, Hilda and Ken Martin and her granddaughter Grace Fischer.
