Mary Ellen Hinkleman Lynch born July 21,1935 passed peacefully September 27, 2021 at Seneca Hill Manor where she was provided with amazing care.

She was born in Hartford, CT. She was a strong athlete especially loving softball. Mary attended East Hartford High School and Shepherd College. She married Frances Lynch at 19 years old on October 30, 1954 and they lived in Shepherdstown, West Virginia where they raised their two sons. They also lived in Starlake, NY for a number of years where she was a medical office comptroller for a doctor, and then moved to Coraopolis, PA. They moved to Parish, NY when their third grandchild was born.

Mary was an avid golfer and was a member in Palermo at Emerald Crest where she played in womens’ leagues. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Parish Library for a number of years and she and her husband worked at organizing food boxes at the local pantry every year. Mary was a lover of the arts. She enjoyed acrylic and oil painting, mostly landscapes. With her extra time she often knitted mittens for those in need. She had a beautiful flower garden and was an amazing cook. Mary canned applesauce and apple butter every year.

She is predeceased by her husband Charles Frances Lynch of 57 years, and her sons Stephen Brady Lynch of Mexico and his younger brother Frances Reid Lynch. Celebrating her life are her daughter in law Dolores (Lorie) Lynch; her grandaughters, Heather Demuth (Jon) of Ashburn, VA, Tiffany Carpenter (Chris) of Brewerton, NY; her three grandsons, Aaron (Brie) of Springfield, GA, Charles Orion of Shepherdstown, WV and Kelly (Lindsey) of Mexico, NY; her brother Harry (Jane) Hinkleman and sister Heidi Daley; and eleven great-grandchildren who called her “GG” as well as her caring and kind neighbors Pat and Kolleen Lucariello of Parish, NY.

There will be no public services. Mary’s family will celebrate her life during a private gathering. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Mexico, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions will be accepted in memory of her to the Parish Public Library in Parish, NY.
