Marion Manning Popp
July 27, 1932 - May, 28, 2024

Marion Manning Popp passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at St Luke’s in Oswego, NY; surrounded by family. A life long resident of Parish, she was born July 27, 1932 to the late Lewin Manning and Inez Manning Kranz.

She was a 1950 graduate of Altmar- Parish High School and began work for the Carl House Insurance Agency before marrying her late husband, Richard Lewis Popp. Marion served as the town clerk of Parish for four terms, as well as a town council person. She was employed by the Hollister Agency for 35 years.

She also served on various committees as a member of the Parish United Methodist Church and was active with Friends of the Library, volunteering until Covid and a broken hip forced her to stop. She was a true music lover and the piano she and her father chose together was her pride and joy.

Marion was predeceased by her brother, the late Wilbur Manning of Parish, as well as her daughter LewAnn Popp Beardslee, of North Port Fl.

She is survived by her beloved baby sister, Evelyn (Loren) Newton of Cleveland, NY, son-in-law Bill Beardslee of Hendersonville, TN, and sisters-in-law Kathryn Manning, Karen Popp, Joan Popp, and Sherry (Rob) Prosser. Also left to carry on her spirit are her son, David (Joe Csira) Popp, of Wilmington ,DE, daughter Lori (Eric) Behling of Mexico NY, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024 from the Parish United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish. Relatives and Friends are invited to a calling hour from 1 - 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Parish, NY.

Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Parish United Methodist Church or the Parish Public Library.
