January 5, 1943 – January 29, 2024

Leon R. Heagle, 81, of Parish, NY, passed away on January 29, 2024.

Leon was born in Phoenix, NY, he was the son of Leon D. and Lillian (Stoutenger) Heagle. Leon served in the United States Army for 6 years. He was employed by Carrier for 30 years. After retiring, Leon served as the Mayor of the Village of Parish from 1997 – 2013. Leon was a member of the Parish Volunteer Fire Department for many years, as well as a member of the Parish United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the VFW. Leon was devoted to, and loved spending time with his family, especially any nieces and nephews that he could give noogies to. Leon was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Leon “Bo” is survived by a brother Edwin “Ted” (Marilyn) Heagle of Corning, a sister Linda Heagle of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by: his wife Susanne (Hall) Heagle, his brothers Elwin “Bucky” Heagle and “Gordy” Heagle, and a nephew Taylor Sheridan.

Funeral services will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024 from the Parish United Methodist Church of Parish, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Parish
