John "Jack" L. Steinfeld

Jack passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with health issues and dementia. Jack was predeceased by his son, Tom Steinfeld, his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Beulah Steinfeld, his nephew Steve Steinfeld. Jack is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Monk and Patrick Murphy, son-in-law Steve DuBois, grandsons Andy Monk, Tony Monk (Chantel) and great grandson,
Castor Kohout-Monk. As well as nephew Jim Steinfeld and many great-nieces and nephews.

Jack lived a very full life. He graduated valedictorian of his high school class and apprenticed as a toolmaker at General Electric where he worked for several more years after serving in the US Navy. He left GE to pursue a college degree, graduated with honors from SUNY Oswego and became a teacher at Oswego High School until his retirement. He was the judge for the town of Albion for a number of
years and a lifelong member of the Dugway Church.

Jack was a farmer, nature/animal lover and was in his glory when he was planting his gardens, cutting wood and doing anything on his property and was famous for his pumpkins. His family, friends and home were the most important things in his life. He was a kind man, always helping anyone in need. He had the best sense of humor and never lost that no matter how sick he got.

Jack will be missed, but his family takes great solace in the fact that he is no longer suffering and he passed away peacefully, as he always wished.

Spring Graveside Services will be a time to be announced. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Parish, NY.
