In Loving Memory of Jean Ward Zender

Jean Ward Zender, 82, of Parish, NY; passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in DeLand, Fl. She was born in Parish, NY, daughter of the late Elwyn M. and Lucile Barber Ward. Jean worked at General Electric and Loretto. She was the co-owner of the Hastings Hotel. She was pre-deceased by her husband, of 60 years, Earl “Zip” Zender, who died in 2015.

Jean is survived by, her devoted brother-in-law, Jim Zender; her twin sister, Joan DiCocco, of Sylvan Beach, NY; sisters, Carol (Rick) Crisafulli, of Parish, NY and Marlene Hallada, of Parish, NY; brother, William (Shirley) Ward, Jr. of VA; special friends, Eric Stokes and Bob Genant; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Jean lived her life with laughter, strength and love... She will be deeply missed by the lives that she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 from the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 2983 W. Main Street, Parish, NY. Interment will be in the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY. Friends and family are invited to call from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
