On March 27, 2019 our beloved daughter, sister, and friend went to be with the lord. Jamie Louise Houghton-Kincaid loved life and everything it had to offer.

Among the things she enjoyed were photography, making soap, bonfires with friends, baseball games in the summer, traveling to new destinations, beaches, sunsets, sunflowers, dragonflies, and music.
Jamie wanted a pug since she was a young child, and loved her little Isabelle with her whole heart. She was a forever friend and companion.

Even more important to Jamie was to be loved and have a family. She was blessed to have Derek James Kincaid in 2018. She loved him with every ounce of her soul and will forever be his guardian angel.

Jamie knew how important good friends and family were, and she appreciated each and every one of you. Whenever she called, she not only asked how everyone was, she truly cared about the answer.

Her passion to help people was fulfilled by pursuing a career in phlebotomy. She was able to touch many lives. Her co-workers became cherished friends. She was an Organ and Tissue Donor.

Jamie is survived by her son Derek Kincaid. Her parents, Doug and Mary Houghton. Her sisters Erin & Scot Barger, and Krista & Bill Alsworth. Her nieces Katie Alsworth and Addison Barger, and her nephew William Alsworth. Her Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins. And her family that, while not blood related, were special in her life.

Jamie’s life is an example to all. If you wish to honor her please spread kindness in the world. Send handwritten letters frequently, pay it forward when you have the chance, be present, and model what you wish to see.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 2983 W. Main Street, Parish, NY. Spring Interment will be in the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY. Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at the funeral home.
