Israel Jonathan Vosseller "Izzy" passed away suddenly on Friday April 22, 2022.

He was born on May 3, 1975, in Oswego, NY to Mark and Cheryl Taber Vosseller.

He is survived by his wife Tabitha Vosseller; his children Tessa Burrows, Zachary Dafoe-Vosseller, and Aleia Vosseller; parents Mark (Darleen) Vosseller, Cheryl Taber; grandchildren Elayna and Atreus Shattuck; grandmother Lillian Taber; step siblings Willie(Danielle) Hotaling, Tammy O'Neil, Joe(Carly) Hotaling, Amy(Jason) Bartlett; along with a very large extended family.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Clifford and Esther Vosseller, Edsel Taber, and his cousin James Burnett.

Izzy had a calling to serve others. His life passion was serving the community as a volunteer firefighter. He joined the New Haven Volunteer Fire Corporation in 1988 as a Junior Firefighter. After leaving the area and serving with other departments, he returned home to New Haven and has been an active member for 13 years as an Exterior Firefighter. He was also the secretary for the Board of Directors. Izzy served in several fire service groups across the county including the Tanker Taskforce, and the Oswego County Firefighters Association, where he served as President.

Izzy's other passions were modeling trains and firetrucks. He was a member of the Oswego Valley Railroad modeling group, and had served as president for the group for the past 6 years. To join his love of modeling and firetrucks, he founded the CNY Firetruck Modelers group. Izzy was also a member of the Hamlin-Weldon American Legion post 1532, under the Sons of the American Legion squadron 1532.

Izzy touched so many peoples hearts and lives. He will be truly missed by all his family, friends and fellow firefighter brothers and sisters.

Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the New Haven Volunteer Fire Corporation, 4211 NY-104, New Haven, NY. A celebration of Izzy's life will follow. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Mexico, NY.
