Gerald Fay MacDougall, 72 of New Haven passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Syracuse Veterans Medical Center, after a hard-fought battle with a long illness.

Gerald was born on January 7, 1950 to Lloyd and Eva (Duciaume) MacDougall in Fulton, NY. Gerald was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for James A Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant, as a security guard for many years. He loved spending time with his beloved dog, Goldie, and he loved spending time with his children.

Gerald is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Nejedly of Gainesville, VA and Gretchen MacDougall of Oswego, NY; 2 grandchildren; Kayla Wallace of Bushkill, PA, and Taylor Wallace of Central Square, NY; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Gerald was pre-deceased by his parents, Lloyd and Eva MacDougall; and his brother, Thomas MacDougall.
Gerald devoted his life to causes that he believed in and his later years to many events at the VFW in Mexico, NY. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed puttering with his tractor and four-wheeler. He enjoyed daily rides on his four-wheeler with his faithful companion, Goldie by his side.

Per Gerald's request, there will be no funeral at this time. However, there will be a Celebration of Life, in the spring, held at the VFW in Mexico, NY. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY.

We would like to thank all of his friends, family, and caregivers whom he thought so much of. We love you all.
