Obituary for Eleanor Guyett Blunt
Eleanor Guyett Blunt, 93, of Oswego, NY, made her final journey homeward on Saturday, October 13, 2018.
Mrs. Blunt was a Registered Nurse, employed for 20 years with the Oswego Hospital. She facilitated an Alzheimer's caregiver support group for 10 years. Eleanor authored a resource book for Alzheimer's caregivers under the sponsorship of the Oswego County Office for the Aging. She was a board member of the CNY Alzheimer's Association. In 1989, Eleanor was the recipient of a national honor as "Caregiver of the Year" by the National Office for the Aging. She also organized a patient advocacy program at the Oswego Hospital and contributed many volunteer hours there. Mrs. Blunt was the first degree graduate of S.U.N.Y.'s Experience Based Education Program, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
