Ed was my friend. One of the things not mentioned in the obit is his work as a historian. He truly loved local history and knows more about it than almost anyone in our town. He was one of our little group of historians and we will miss him and his knowledge very much. The last time I saw him he brought me a wonderful apple pie he had baked that morning. So many talents! I will miss him terribly.

Ed was a humble man, a good friend and past President of our family organization, The Matteson Historical Congress of America. Ed was very proud of his ancestors and their deep American roots. He will be greatly missed at our annual family reunions, which he hosted several times.

Ed was like a part of the Piseski family. Many of our family get togethers were held at the Piseski farm in West Amboy and Ed and Barb were always welcome. I so appreciated Ed’s help with the care of my Uncle Henry. Ed was a wonderful friend and neighbor. He was very knowledgeable about the community and was always willing to help others. After my uncle passed, I relied on Ed on many occasions. Thank you Ed for everything. You will certainly be missed by many. My condolences to Barb and his family.

Ed I am grieving for you as I text this message. I have just learned about your passing from this Obituary.
Now, you are in Heaven where our Lord and Savior, and the Angels are. Far better there than here on earth as you know already. I am happy that you and I both were friends, and Christians and still are to this day.
Ed my condolences and wishes goes out to your family, and friends. Barb is saded at this time but her heart will heal over time. May God Bless Barb, and your children as well.
Your Congregation at the West Amboy Church in Amboy, and your family and friends are going to miss you....I know that I will too for sure.
May you now rest in peace Edmund. Your friend, Richard Hall. ❤️🙏❤️🙏
