Douglas Michael Rice, 56, of Hastings, NY; passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Born in Syracuse, NY, he resided in Hastings, NY.

Doug graduated from Paul V. Moore High School in 1983. He had worked for Fed Ex, for 19 years. More recently, Doug worked for a Shuttle Service and chauffeured Seniors on their outings. He decorated the bus for all the holidays and enjoyed dressing up as Santa.

Doug loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a long time member of the Kruising Knights Car Club. He was also known for his epic Halloween decorations and haunted house. Doug had a giving spirit and always wanted to help others.

He is pre-deceased by, his parents, Welcome E. and Jeanne C. Rice.

Doug is survived by his brother, Edward (Nikki) Rice, of Collinsville, OK; his sister, Linda (Don) Whiting, of St. Cloud, FL; nephews, Evan and Alec Whiting; niece, Megan Rice; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9525 S. Main Street (Brewerton Road) Brewerton, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 4100 E. Genesee St. Syracuse, NY; Section 50, Lot 208, Grave 1.
