Obituary for Douglas S. Clarke

Doug was born November 22,1933, In Huntington NY, to REV. Joseph A. and Marjorie Clarke, he attended Nottingham High school in Syracuse NY.

After high school he enlisted in the US Army from 1954-1957 where he spent most of his time in Germany and had the privilege of being a driver for General Dwight D. Eisenhower and his wife. After his time in the service he moved to Parish NY where his father was the Reverend of the Methodist church at the time. This is where he met the love of his life Janice Jennings, and the two were soon married. And for the next 64 years they lived in Parish where they raised three children. Doug was very involved in his community as he was a Parish fireman for 25 years, was the President of the APW school board, and participated in many community activities through out his years there. He was an avid fan of the APW Rebels, Dallas Cowboys, and Boston Red Soxs, he loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and colorguard for the APW rebels.

Doug is survived by his wife of 64 years Janice, his three children Doug (Tammy), Rick, and Lynn (Troy) Booth, his Fourteen Grandchildren, Michael and Nate Pensero, Hailey and Nick DeLauri, Kayli Calkins, and Daniel Calkins, Corey and Dianne Booth, Jena Booth and Colin Van Buren, Elise and James Parkhurst, Mason Clarke and Ellery Clarke, and Two great grandchildren, Wes Pensero, and Jacey Rae Van Buren. His favorite saying to his granddaughters was smile for me..

So in remembrance of Him please everybody smile. At his request there will be no Funeral Services.
There will be a Celebration of His life on October 23, 2022 at the Home of Janice Clarke,956 North Railroad St.
in Parish from 1 to 4 p.m. please come and help us celebrate this great man's life.
