David Czyz, 66, passed away at home in Mexico, NY on May 11, 2023. He was born in Syracuse on July 9, 1956 to Frank and Catherine Czyz. He was a mechanic, working at Niagara Mohawk for years.

He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, playing guitar, harmonica and other instruments. He was a great conversationalist, knew a lot of information and liked a good political discussion, even had presidential trivia at the ready to share with others. He liked watching sports too, the Orange, Yankees and Packers among his favorites. He and his wife built their house in Mexico in the mid-80s and given some time, could fix just about anything.

He is predeceased by his wife of 18 years, Lesley Czyz, and his parents. Surviving are his daughters Leanne (Zachary) Rasha of Taberg, NY, Danielle (Keith) Czyz of Oswego, NY, and Becky (Nathan) Czyz of Cape Coral, FL, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Kathleen Labeaf of Syracuse, NY, niece Christine (Cyril) Bucklin of California and nephew Michael Bucklin of Syracuse, NY.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY. Interment will be in Mexico Primitive Cemetery, Mexico, NY. Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
