Obituary for Conley Ray Whaley

In Loving Memory
Conley Ray Whaley
February 6, 2023

Conley (Connie) Ray Whaley, 79 passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at Oswego Hospital. He was born at home in Lycoming, New York. He attended the one room school house in Lycoming and later Mexico High School. He worked at local businesses such as Duell's Saw Mill in New Haven, Oswego Castings, and Alcan.

He retired from Alcan in 1996 to tend his Percheron horses, cut wood to burn, watch NASCAR and Packer football, hunt, fish, and mow lawn while having a cold beer or two. He loved his John Deere Tractor.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Isabel (Woolson) Whaley; sister, Madonna Brace Louis; brothers, Lyle and Carl (his best friend) and his granddaughter, Joelle Weber.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna {Hopkins) Whaley and children, Scott Conley Whaley, Pamela James Whaley (Bill Calderone}, and Nolan Scott Whaley (Monica}; brother Damon Whaley, grandson, Brock; great-grand daughter, Zyanna and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His daily rides around the block kept track of his neighbors and all the local wildlife, especially snapping turtles.
So, he's still on watch, just from a different location.

There will be no calling hours or services as per his wishes. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Mexico, NY.
