Colleen B. Rought

Colleen B. Rought, 72, of Murrells Inlet, SC and more recently, Oswego, NY, passed away peacefully at Basset Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY. Colleen was born in Syracuse, NY, on August 27, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Paul Baratier, Sr and Louise (Cavanaugh) Baratier.

Upon her birth, Colleen joined five siblings: Helen Baratier (Ouderkirk), Ronald L. Baratier, Paul L. Baratier, Nelson I. Baratier, and Mary E. Baratier.

She had a very big heart and a strong faith in her Lord. Her generous spirit led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the State University of New York at Oswego and her master’s degree in Special Education from Nazareth College. She was passionate about education, and was a wonderful, skilled and patient teacher to children. She especially enjoyed sharing time with her granddaughter, Skylar, reading books and baking cookies.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara R. Wells (Marcus) and son, Andrew P. Rought (Caite), and one granddaughter, Skylar J. Rought, and two siblings: Paul Baratier and Mary Baratier.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at a time to be announced in the Spring. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Parish, NY.
