Obituary for Carl J. Larrabee

Carl Junior Larrabee
April 7, 2019

Carl J. Larrabee, 89, Ocala, Fla., died April 7, 2019. Born June 26, 1929, in Carley Mills, N.Y., Carl was a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force and further served as a civil servant for the Department of Defense.

Carl held degrees in agriculture, electrical engineering and research and development management, tools he used “to blow up the strays” as missile range safety officer in the USAF and as a Civil Service engineer in the early days of the Naval Space Command – the personal highlights of his career.

Carl is survived by Phyllis (Harvey) Larrabee, whose family roots are in Texas Valley, and their four children: Michael Larrabee of Marathon, Steven Larrabee of Charlottesville, Va., Lynne Larrabee of Springfield, Va., and Patricia Nale of Marlton, N.J., as well as nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Carl and Phyllis shared the nomadic life of a career serviceman but managed to stay grounded in family during their 67 years of marriage.

Carl’s dedication to military service will be remembered by his immediate family in a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, where his memorial will be placed.

Funeral Arrangements are in the Trusted Care of the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Parish, NY.
