Beverly M. (Flower) Ware

Beverly M. (Flower) Ware, 92, of Oswego, NY; passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY. She was born in Oswego, NY; daughter of the late Leland and Zella Coe Flower.

She was married to Claude Ware in 1946. She worked for the Oswego Post Office as a Rural Mail Carrier for many years, which allowed her to get to know many of her neighbors. She also worked at Loblaw’s and General Electric. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lycoming, the New Haven Senior Citizens and the Scriba Historical Society.

In her younger years, she enjoyed church dances, snowmobiling, gardening, her friends and family, senior trips and polka dancing with her long-time best friend Trudy “Gerty” (Fox) Vitullo. She enjoyed being everyone’s Nani and raising all of her boys over the years.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Claude Ware; her son, Richard Ware; and her siblings, Alrington “Firp”, Ellsworth “Bill” and Frances “Fran”.

Bev is survived by her son Timothy (Deanna) Ware; daughter, Tina (Chuck) Lewin; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ware, Kristin Ware, Ethan Ware, Austin Bettinger, Christina Knight and Heather Kerner; great-grandchildren, Holly Corwin and Kaylin Knight and her “special” daughters, Rebecca (Rick) Bettinger and Beverly Ware; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from the First United Methodist Church of Lycoming, Lycoming, NY. Spring Burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Mexico, NY.
