Barbara Ann Pierce Crane, 81, of Rome, NY; passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Rome Memorial Hospital in Rome, NY. She was born in Green Island, NY; daughter of the late Elvin H. “Pete” and Mary Fuller Pierce.

She was a graduate of Mexico Academy and Central Schools and of the Mercy Nursing School in Watertown, NY. She worked as a Surgical Nurse at Griffiss Hospital at Griffiss Air Force Base. She was a Certified Nurse’s Aide Instructor and was a Bus Driver for Birnie Bus Service, Inc. in Rome, NY.

She is pre-deceased by her brothers, Richard Pierce and David Pierce.

Barb is survived by her two sons, Kory (Myrna) Crane, and Kelly (James Moore) Crane; her daughter, Kristin Moistner; grandchildren, Kyle Moistner and Alyssa Moistner; a great-grandchild, Adleigh Moistner; and two brothers, Frederick (Doris) Pierce and James Pierce.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY. Interment will be in Mexico Village Cemetery. Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
